Independence

How could you say that you are INDEPENDENT?
In India, 15th August has been celebrated as Independence Day since a long time now. But one question that should arise in our minds is - Are we really Independent?
Just because we have the power and authority to breathe, doesn’t mean we are free. Patriotism has limited itself for days. Be it Independence Day, Republic day, Gandhi Jayanti, and the list goes on.
We have divided roads, divide religions, divided Gods, divided the worship places, divided Humans.
We still think if we need Muslim friends. We still blame our Hindu friends for being in power and not giving the minority the proper stature. We don’t even consider Christians, Jews and Parsi a religion. We have reservation for those who don’t need it. We have been criminals in shattering the dreams of many General category students. We have an education system that doesn’t teach us anything, neither tests our skills nor the ability.
Education is commercialized, so is the Medical system and what not.
We still can’t live without being answerable to the society. We still can’t work for our passion. We cut down on our dreams thinking what the society has to say. We still prefer fair and beautiful people. We don’t give many opportunities to the deserving ones.
We take bribe. We prefer male child over female child. Top of that, we have no laws to protect them against Rape. We have pre-defined job roles and responsibility for women and men .Yes we have women rape laws, but we have amazing lawyers in our country who try their level best to bring out the rapists out.
We have Human rights which act against the Humans. We body shame people who are other than the lean ones. We pass comments and judgment on people who we might not even know. We Use beauty products to be socially accepted. We Abuse to look cool. We honk even if we are not in any hurry to show the cool factor - Mistaken Swag Identity*, we still face injustice but fail to fight against it.
Women still fear to go out of their houses. Courtesy : Terrorism, Corruption, Rape, Injustice, Unfair practices, Unethical means, Murdering (minds + souls).
Chacha Nehru said that children are the future but we still prefer child labor. If all this was not enough, we still have a lot of villages where is neither sanitation nor electricity, neither hospital nor schools.
We are those people who definitely believe in cleaning our house by throwing garbage in front of our neighbor’s house. More over we let injustice happen to us. We let those Britishers to rule and loot our lands. Only difference between then and now is the fact that we are looted, cheated, terrorized, raped, bribed by our own people. Inspite of being in such a terrible state, we celebrate our Independence?
Strange isn't it?
